Updated currency exchange rates are essential information for finance and business professionals. This application provides periodic updates of the exchange rates of three major currencies (Euro, British Pound, and Japanese Yen) versus the US Dollar via SMS. A picture ad is perpended to the SMS.
For each mobile number that subscribes to this service, the application retrieves the associated user profile from the Adhere User Profiles Server then requests a targeted picture ad for that user from the Adhere Ad Server. The application then creates an SMS that starts with the a picture ad followed by a separator then the currency exchange rates. Finally, the application sends the message to the mobile number via
Clickatell SMS Gateway.
A script can be written to run the application periodically, e.g. daily.
Mobile Operators or Mobile Content Providers can use this application as a basis for a daily ad-sponsored currency exchange rates information service that can be offered either for free or at a discounted price to their mobile subscribers.
